Promise

A bay “off the track” thoroughbred with a heart of gold, Promise’s favorite activity is licking client hands. A matron on the farm at 23, she’s gentle with children and loves to be groomed, petted and fed soft peppermints. She still remembers the days when she was left to starve in a field, so she’s extra appreciative of attention and love today. Don’t let that gentle spirit fool you, however! She definitely remembers her days on the race track. Running barrels is her jam!

Montana

A 13 year old black roan Appaloosa, Montana has a storied history for such a young horse! Bred on an Appaloosa farm, Montana has been professionally trained in dressage and hunter/jumper, enjoyed adventures in fox hunting, dabbled a bit around the barrels and finally found. his home as a therapy partner. Purchased from one of the last existing Black cowboy barns in Charlotte, Montana has spent the last year remembering what it is like to have at will pasture access and a small herd of friends to enjoy. He is patient, willing and loyal and enjoys being around people. That said, he has a lot of power under saddle and is not generally used for smaller or reticient children.

Cisco

Cisco originally joined our herd as a summer lease horse, but he fit in so well that he, well…sort of never left! Cisco is an experienced and flexible 18 year old paint/draft cross who has a beautiful canter and years of experience as an instructor. He is a lovely gelding who hails from a hobby farm in Charlotte and enjoys helping with lessons, camps, trail rides and mini shows! Cisco is an old soul with the patience of a saint, even with our baby goats and the pig! Help him feel appreciated! (Carrots are a favorite!)

Sky

Named for her beautiful blue eyes, Sky (or Sky-Pony) is a lovely, gentle 9 year old paint with a nice set of blue ribbons under her belt! Previously owned by a five year old, Sky is extremely well suited to teaching youngsters. Born with an old soul but still young enough to learn new tricks, Sky is a once in a lifetime pony! She’s as content to walk slowly around with a child as she is to jump fences with an experienced rider. Her favorite activity is to be petted on the side of her neck or between her ears. No noses, please! A bad sunburn as a filly made her nose a wee bit sensitive.

Tater Tot

Our most recently acquired team member is Mr. Tater Tot! Tater is a 13 year old black appaloosa mini horse…not a pony, but a true mini horse! Tater was purchased from a horse farm where small children rode him at will around the property, so he is a one of a kind, patient and trustworthy mini-dude. Even with his small stature, Tater can jump fences! He is an experienced driving horse and has his own tiny cart ready to take you on a ride! Tater is happy to be led around by a four year old holding just his halter, and often sits for photos with the little ones. A big fan of the goats, Tater enjoys his time in the dry lot with them and often complains when we let him loose. Carrots and apple slices will gain you a friend for life around Mr. Tater!
